November 3 | Can my friend marry us in Colorado?

We get this question all the time and wanted to share the good news with everyone. YES! Colorado is a self-solemnizing state, meaning that you technically don’t need anyone to marry you–you can simply marry each other. So what does that mean? That means you can have your friend, your uncle, or even your dog stand with you in front of friends and family and help you tie the knot. No one has to bother with getting ordained or having a special title or license. Just pick someone you love to help you proclaim your love! On your marriage license there is a place for the officiant to sign their name, but that is about it! So don’t worry about the paperwork and simply ask the perfect person if they will help you get married!
